We are proud to announce the seven local recipients of the MVSB – James D. Sutherland Memorial Scholarship. The Sutherland Scholarship is awarded annually to one graduating senior from each community in which MVSB has an office.
This year’s recipients are:
- Kevin Bisson of New Durham, son of Eric and Laurie Bisson, will attend Maine Maritime Academy in Castine
- Allison Brown of Meredith, daughter of Crystal Furnée and Tom Brown, will attend the University of New Hampshire in Durham
- Amanda Hayden of Moultonborough, daughter of Jo and Jonathan Hayden, will attend Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia
- Hannah Kuehl of Plymouth, the second of four children in the Kuehl-Lamb family, will attend Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland
- Benjamin Morris of Gilford, son of John and Lisa Morris, will attend Husson University in Bangor, Maine
- Martha Rasbridge of Alton, daughter of Donald and Laurie Rasbridge, will attend the California University of Pennsylvania, in California, Pennsylvania
- Abigail Teichert of Laconia, daughter of Judee Teichert, will attend Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island
Each year The Sutherland Scholarship is awarded annually to one graduating senior each from Gilford High School, Inter-Lakes High School, Kingswood Academy, Laconia High School, Moultonborough Academy, Plymouth Regional High School and Prospect Mountain High School.
