Beginning May 7, 2012, we will accept full-color photography for our 2012 Community Calendar and Website Photo Contest. Winners of the contest will have their photos displayed in MVSB’s 2013 Community Calendar or on the bank’s website at www.mvsb.com. Amateur and professional photographers are invited to submit photographs that capture the character and beauty of Belknap, Carroll and Grafton counties and/or convey some aspect of community/family life, such as community events, landmarks or seasonal pastimes. Tuesday, April 24 was Teach Children to Save Day! MVSB celebrated by inviting parents to bring their children into their local MVSB office to have Pick Pigs™ – a story about saving, sharing and spending – read to them by the office managers at each of the Bank’s 11 locations. Across all of our branch offices, MVSB office managers read the story to more than 50 children. Pick Pigs™ is geared toward children ages 3-7. Alert: Global Payments, Inc. Breach Compromises 1.5 Million Payment Cards
Global Payments, Inc., a payment card processor, has identified and reported the unauthorized access into a portion of their North American processing system. According to the company, a preliminary investigation has shown that the unauthorized access has exposed Track 2 magnetic stripe data for less than 1.5 million payment cards. Track 2 typically includes card-specific information, such as the unique 16-digit card number and card expiration date. It is not believed that affected consumers’ names, addresses and social security numbers have been exposed.
