MVSB and Mill Falls at the Lake are co-sponsoring “Laugh Out Loud Comedy Night”, which will take place on Friday, April 5th at Church Landing in Meredith. All proceeds from the event will help bring “miles of smiles” to Kidworks Learning Center by going towards the purchase of a new transportation vehicle for the center.
“We’re very grateful for MVSB’s continued support of our comedy night fundraiser event,” said Jennifer Weeks, Executive Director of Kidworks Learning Center. “The support we receive from local community-oriented businesses like the Bank enables us to provide high-quality care and education for local children at an affordable cost to working families.”
The April 5th fundraiser starts with a reception and cash bar at 7 p.m. followed by a comedy show featuring nationally celebrated talent, Mike Burton and Paul Keenan, beginning at 8 p.m.
Tickets to the show are $20 per person and include a coupon to buy one entree and get the second entree half price (valid for use on 4/5/13 only) for one of several Meredith eateries: the Lakehouse, Camp, Lago, Mame’s or Giuseppe’s. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Meredith Mobil Station, across from Town Docks, in Meredith.
Comedian Mike P. Burton started doing stand-up comedy in 1996 and moved up the ladder quickly; first performing in clubs in New York City and then hitting the road. He’s quickly becoming known around the country in comedy clubs as an act you don’t want to miss. He’s been in TV shows, independent feature films and several commercials. He’s recently done warm-up acts for daytime shows such as Rachel Ray and The Chew and is now a regular warm-up act for ABC’s The Revolution. His high energy act, storytelling and facial expressions endear him to audiences and have them readily waiting to see him again.
Comedian Paul Keenan has become a regular performer in the Boston comedy scene. Crowds can’t help but be drawn in by his All-American looks and childlike charm as he shares his bizarre thoughts. Paul was the winner of the first annual Plymouth Rock Comedy Festival in 2010 and has been a finalist in the Magners Comedy Festival, Sierra Mist Comedy Search (Boston), HBO Standup Standoff, Catch a New Rising Star contest, and the Rhode Island Comedy Festival. He has worked in many of New England’s best comedy venues and starred in several commercials. You may have also seen Paul in the Showtime series Brotherhood and in the Academy Award winning film Mystic River, directed by Clint Eastwood. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Extra for this film.
