Almost a rite of spring, MVSB’s Annual Photo Contest has returned! Now through Friday, July 26, 2013, we will be accepting full-color photography entries for consideration for inclusion in our 2014 Community Calendar and website, www.mvsb.com. In addition, Community Calendar entries may also be selected to be used for MVSB’s holiday cards and/or note cards.
Whether amateur or professional, all photographers are encouraged to submit their favorite photos representing the many flavors of the Belknap, Carroll and Grafton counties. The photos can feature community events, recreational activities, landmarks or local landscapes from these greater Lakes Region areas.
Entries may be submitted for either the calendar or website or both, but separate entry forms must be submitted for each contest. The formatting requirements for the website and calendar contests differ, so please be sure to review the detailed specifications and use the appropriate form to submit your photography.
Official entry forms and complete rules for the contest are available at all 11 MVSB locations throughout the Lakes Region and the Plymouth area.
All photos and entry forms must be submitted by the close of business on Friday, July 26, 2013. Entries may be dropped off at any MVSB location or mailed to: Meredith Village Savings Bank, Attention: Photo Contest, PO Box 177, Meredith, NH 03253-0177. Photographers will receive a $50 cash prize for each winning photo selected for inclusion in the calendar or on the website. The winner will be responsible for the payment of any federal, state and local taxes on the prize.
Calendar Entries
A maximum of five (5) color photographs may be submitted per photographer. Only color photographs will be considered for the Community Calendar contest (which includes selections for holiday cards and note cards). Black and white entries will not be accepted.
Digital photography is preferred and must be a minimum of 300 dpi at 10”x 8” and saved in tiff, eps or jpg format. Each entry must be submitted on a CD accompanied by a high quality 10”x 8” color print. 35mm slides are also acceptable formats. Negatives or high-resolution digital images must be included with all prints at the time they are submitted for entry.
Website Entries
A maximum of five (5) color photographs may be submitted per photographer. Only color photographs will be considered for inclusion on the website. Black and white entries will not be accepted.
Digital photography is required. Each entry must be submitted on a CD at a minimum resolution of 72 dpi (though higher is preferred) at a size of at least 960 pixels wide x 400 pixels high and accompanied by a high quality 10”x 4.25” color print.
Judging of all submitted photography will be “blind” and based solely on the suitability of the subject, quality of the photography, and adherence to the purpose of the contest. The name of the photographer will not be known by the judging panel.
