MVSB’s recent donation of $2000 to the Laconia Ice Arena’s “Think Rink for Kids” Capital campaign has put the organization even closer to their fundraising goal of $267,000.
“We are so thankful for this donation and all the support that has been coming through from our community,” said Will Fay, Business Manager of the Arena. “As a campaign that is primarily funded through public and private donations, we need the support of citizens and community-oriented businesses, like Meredith Village Savings Bank, to sustain this recreational resource.”
The Laconia Ice Arena is entering its “second generation,” during which significant investment will be required in order to continue to operate the facility and maintain its refrigeration system, consisting of miles of tubes laid underneath the ice surface, a large condenser, chiller and several other components. The Laconia Ice Arena’s “Think Rink for Kids” campaign has been established to raise funds to update refrigeration equipment, provide improved parking, and reduce fees for youth and community.
“Think Rink for Kids” campaign contributions can be made by individual cash donation, corporate sponsorship, grant or matching funds. The Laconia Ice Arena is a home for hundreds of youth hockey players and figure skaters. It’s a place for children to bond with parents, for neighbors to connect with neighbors, for friends to share quality time, and for kids and adults alike to discover the joy of learning a new skill or perfecting an old talent. Through the combined effort of the Lakes Region community, we can continue to have a “neighborhood space” that brings joy, fulfillment and entertainment to the youth, adults and families of today, and for the next generations to come.
