New Beginnings domestic violence crisis center recently received $4,140. As part of MVSB’s commitment to assisting non-profit agencies in the communities it serves, the Bank agreed to match all 2013 employee contributions to the Lakes Region United Way. The $41,400 in matched funds have been distributed evenly to 10 deserving non-profit agencies selected by MVSB employee vote.
“We are so thankful that MVSB employees chose New Beginnings as a recipient for this donation,” said Shauna Bertwell, Child and Family Advocacy Coordinator at New Beginnings. “New Beginnings relies heavily on the support of local organizations, like MVSB, as a means of continuing to provide a safe environment and services for our community members in crisis.”
New Beginnings collaborates and educates to end sexual, domestic and stalking violence; advocates for and empowers individuals in a non-judgmental manner; and works toward social change by promoting an effective community response. The center provides support groups, court advocacy, shelter, emergency assistance, educational programs and a 24 hour crisis line to families and individuals in need. All services provided by New Beginnings are free of charge and confidential. For more information about New Beginnings, please visit http://www.newbeginningsnh.org.
