Please be advised that we have received numerous reports of customers and area residents receiving fraudulent automated calls and voicemails claiming that their debit card has been “locked.” The call recipient is asked to press 1 to continue and then to enter personal information such as their debit card or account number so that card can be unlocked.
These fraudulent calls do not mention Meredith Village Savings Bank and are not being made by Meredith Village Savings Bank or any other legitimate financial institution or debit card processor. Please do not provide account or debit card information in response to any unsolicited phone calls, text messages or emails; doing so will put your account at risk for fraud.
Meredith Village Savings Bank may contact you from time to time to confirm high risk or unusual activity made using your debit card or account, but we do not place unsolicited calls requesting personal information and we do not place any automated calls or leave automated voice messages.
If you receive a suspicious call, text message or email, please do not respond by entering any personal information. If you have provided your personal information in response to a suspicious call, text message or email, please notify us immediately so that we can assist you with protecting your account and preventing identity theft.
