The New Hampshire Department of Travel and Tourism Development (DTTD) is warning of a recent telephone scam targeting tourism-related businesses. Area businesses have reported receiving calls from Canadian telephone numbers soliciting their ad for a NH Tourism publication. The caller asks to confirm the business’ address to send them an invoice for $599.
According to the DTTD, businesses will only be contacted by their representative at Yankee Publishing with respect to any legitimate DTTD advertising opportunities. If your business receives a suspicious call regarding advertising, the Department recommends contacting your Yankee Publishing representative or calling the DTTD directly at 603-271-2665.
