The MVSB Fund has awarded a $1,000 grant to Tamworth Caregivers of Tamworth, NH. These funds will be used to supplement the organization’s volunteer mileage reimbursement program. Tamworth Caregivers provides neighborly services to Tamworth residents that require assistance to meet their daily obligations or to enhance their quality of life. 98% of the requests received by the organization are for volunteer transportation services for important personal errands, such as medical appointments. Warning: Medical Alert Service Telephone Scam
Area law enforcement recently notified us of numerous consumer complaints regarding suspicious phone calls from fraudulent elderly medical alert companies going by names such as “Senior Alert Care Company.” The representatives claim that a family member has purchased a medical alert system for the recipient of the call and then asks that they provide a credit card number to finalize the account setup. MVSB Supports Belknap Economic Development Council with $25,000 Tax Credit Purchase
MVSB recently purchased $25,000 in tax credits from Belknap Economic Develop Council (Belknap EDC) through the NH Community Development Finance Authority’s Community Development Investment Program, commonly referred to as CDFA’s tax credit program. We are proud to be one of several community partners assisting Hermit Woods Winery, LLC in their expansion to a larger facility, located at 72 Main Street in Meredith. Meredith Village Savings Bank and Belknap Economic Development Council together provided financing for Hermit Woods to purchase their new home.
