MVSB employees recently chose Voices Against Violence as one of ten local non-profit agencies to receive a $3,795 donation. As part of MVSB’s commitment to assisting non-profit agencies in the communities it serves, the Bank matched all 2014 employee contributions to the Lakes Region United Way campaign. The $37,950 in matched funds were distributed evenly to 10 deserving non-profit agencies selected by MVSB employee vote.
“We are so thankful that we were selected to receive this generous contribution from MVSB,” said Meg Kennedy Dugan, Executive Director for Voices Against Violence. “We rely heavily on our AmeriCorps members and community volunteers to provide crisis services, such as a 24/7 crisis line, crisis counseling, court advocacy and emergency shelter, to those in need. These funds will help us offset the cost of retaining a full time AmeriCorps member, who is invaluable to the work we do.”
