We are excited to launch a three-month arts-themed Facebook contest, during which community members will have the opportunity to vote for a local school district to win a $3000 arts grant and enter to win one of five $250 Ticketmaster™ gift card for themselves.
Over the summer, the Bank reached out to local school administrators and asked how they could benefit from an additional $3000 in arts resources. Nine school districts (Alton, Conway, Gilford, Inter-Lakes, Moultonborough, Newfound, Plymouth, Prospect Mountain and Shaker Regional) responded, and their entries will be posted to MVSB’s Facebook page now through December 29th. Community members are encouraged to review the submissions and vote for the school they feel is most deserving of the arts grant.
The “What’s not to ‘Like’?” grant contest began last year when local schools were given the opportunity to compete for a technology grant. The winning school district, Moultonborough, used the funds to purchase a 3D Printer for the Technology Education department at Moultonborough Academy. Due to the popularity of the contest, MVSB decided to renew the contest for a second year, but this time for the Arts!
“At MVSB, we have been long-time supporters of local arts programs and we recognize the important role creative expression plays in the culture of communities across the Lakes Region,” said Cindy Hemeon-Plessner, Senior Vice President and Marketing Officer at MVSB. “By supporting arts education, we hope to help our local schools foster young imaginations, address academic standards, and promote the critical thinking and creativity skills essential to a 21st-century work force.”
To place a vote for your favorite local school district, visit MVSB’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/MeredithVillageSavingsBank, and click on the contest tab located beneath the page’s profile photo or click on the cover photo for a direct link to the voting page. Once on the voting page, review the school district submissions, check the “vote” box next to the school district you want to vote for and click submit. Eligible voters that place a vote prior to December 29, 2014 and provide their name and contact information will also be entered to win one (1) of five (5) $250 Ticketmaster™ Gift Cards – a win, win for local school districts and community members!
