We are pleased to announce a $33,500 donation to the Granite United Way for its 2015 corporate giving campaign as well as an additional $33,500 in donations to local non-profit agencies selected by Bank employees. The donations are the result of the contributions from the Bank’s employees coupled with the Bank’s dollar-for-dollar match.
As part of MVSB’s commitment to aiding non-profit agencies in the communities it serves, the matched contributions were distributed evenly to 10 non-profit agencies that were selected by MVSB employee vote. The following agencies each received a donation of $3,350:
- Boys and Girls Club of the Lakes Region
- Central New Hampshire VNA and Hospice
- Genesis Behavioral Health
- Granite United Way – Central Region
- Lakes Region Habitat for Humanity
- Lakes Region Humane Society
- New Beginnings Crisis Center
- New Hampshire Food Pantry – Lakes Region
- New Hampshire Humane Society
- Voices Against Violence
“We strongly encourage and support MVSB employees in volunteering with and contributing to the organizations that they are most passionate about” said Sam Laverack, President and CEO for Meredith Village Savings Bank. “This Bank’s contribution match relies on the generosity of our employees, so it only seemed natural for them to be included in the selection of agencies to receive this extra support.”
To achieve this outstanding level of giving, 118 employees gave an average of $284 each, which rose to $568 each with the Bank match. The success of the Bank’s annual United Way giving campaign would not have been possible without the enthusiasm and leadership of its coordinators, Patricia Colby, Cathy Sleeper and Susan Ross.
“Granite United Way is fortunate to count Meredith Village Savings Bank and its employees among our partners in improving lives throughout this area,” said Scoop Welch, Granite United Way’s Area Director of the Central Region. “The combination of employee giving and Meredith Village Savings Bank’s corporate gift is an impressive demonstration of their collective dedication to this community. It is a tribute to the spirit of community felt throughout Central New Hampshire.”
