The Four Paws Inn provides cage-free doggie daycare and boarding services in Meredith. They recently expanded their facility with financing provided by Meredith Village Savings Bank (MVSB). Cristy Martel and Danyelle McCormick, Co-Owners of the business, approached Daniel Osetek, Vice President Commercial Loan Officer for MVSB, earlier this year with their plans to expand an existing barn on their property to provide a larger indoor recreation space for the dogs. Osetek collaborated with Vice President Loan Officer, Lori Borrin, to provide a complete financing package to not only help fund the project, but also establish a long term financing structure for this growing local business.
The Four Paws Inn takes great pride in its cage-free doggie daycare method that lets “dogs be dogs,” with a variety of open play areas to accommodate different temperaments and play styles. While its guests spend the majority of their time outdoors, this expansion will provide a larger, more recreation-friendly indoor space for those days when it’s too cold or rainy to be outside. The dogs will appreciate the extra 600 square foot second story playroom that was built above their existing 500 square foot indoor playroom.
“We have been considering this project for about a year,” said Martel. “And after speaking with a number of lenders about possible financing options, we chose to work with Dan Osetek at MVSB. He took the time to understand the needs of our business and, after a careful review of our property and our barn expansion project, came up with a creative financing option we hadn’t been presented with before. Dan looked beyond our request for a loan and found the best funding solution for our business.”
“MVSB has allowed us to build a second heated play room just in time for winter that will make many local dogs in the Lakes Region very happy,“ said McCormick. “The dog owners will be happy knowing their dogs aren’t outside in the cold all day and their dogs will be clean and dry when they get picked up.”
“It’s been such a pleasure to work with Cristy and Danyelle on this project,” said Osetek. “We share in their excitement as they bring their business to the next level and open this new space to the dogs they provide such great care for every day.”
