We are pleased to announce this year’s James D. Sutherland Memorial Scholarship recipients. Each year, one graduating high school student from seven communities in which MVSB has an office is selected to receive a grant from the Sutherland Memorial Scholarship.
This year’s recipients include: Allison Carey of Plymouth, Daughter of James and Kelley Carey, attending Husson University, in Maine; Eleanor Eaton of Moultonborough, Daughter of Brian and Lydia Eaton, attending Clark University in Massachusetts; Olivia Gubitose of Alton, Daughter of George and Maureen Gubitose, attending Syracuse University in New York; Morgan McCann of Wolfeboro, Daughter of Chris and Deb McCann, attending Salve Regina University in Rhode Island; Samantha Oakley of Meredith, Daughter of Tom and Lori Oakley, attending Providence College in Rhode Island; Haleigh Patch of Gilford, Daughter of Dan Patch and Shelley Kane, attending Keene State University in New Hampshire; and Taylor Sullivan of Laconia, Daughter of Sean and Gayle Sullivan, attending Southern New Hampshire University.
The Sutherland Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of James Sutherland, who served as CEO and President of Meredith Village Savings Bank between 1982 and 1996. Each year the scholarship is awarded to deserving high school seniors from Gilford High School, Inter-Lakes High School, Kingswood Academy, Laconia High School, Moultonborough Academy, Plymouth Regional High School and Prospect Mountain High School.
