James (“Jim”) Carrigan has joined Meredith Village Savings Bank (MVSB) as the Branch and Business Development Manager for the Bank’s newest office in Portsmouth on 2839 Lafayette Road, across from the Beach Plum Restaurant on Route 1. Carrigan will lead the Bank’s expansion efforts in Portsmouth, overseeing the new office, which opens later this summer.
Carrigan, who joined MVSB in July, is currently training out of the Bank’s main office in Meredith. He plans to transition to Portsmouth as soon as branch construction completes.
Carrigan brings more than 10 years of banking experience to his new role. Currently he is a SCORE advisor for small businesses and an active member of the Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce. Carrigan is a Hoffman-Hass Fellow for the NH Center for Nonprofits and recently served on the board for the Seacoast Science Center. He donates his time volunteering with the Blue Ocean Society, United Way, the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and the PARMA Music Festival. He studied Business and Communications from Southern New Hampshire University and resides in Portsmouth with his family.
“I’m excited to welcome Jim to our Portsmouth team,” said Christine Harris, Senior Vice President of Retail Banking for MVSB. “His 10 years of experience in banking along the Seacoast demonstrates dedication and a personal connection with this community. Jim’s expertise and exceptional ability to build relationships is an incredible asset.”
The Bank has had a successful office in Hampton Falls for the last few years that focuses solely on loans for businesses, non-profits, municipalities, individuals and families. The Portsmouth branch represents a significant commitment by MVSB to expand on the continued success of its loan production office, and addresses numerous customer requests to bring its services into the Seacoast region.
