New Hampshire Mutual Bancorp (NHMB) was recently awarded with the Granite Award from Granite United Way. NHMB contributed more than $140,000, which included employee donations and matching funds from NHMB and its three subsidiaries: Meredith Village Savings Bank, Merrimack County Savings Bank and MillRiver Wealth Management. The amount raised also includes sponsorships and CDFA tax credits for the Whole Village and the Bridge House energy project in Plymouth. FCC Warns Consumers of ‘Can you hear me?’ Phone Scam
The Federal Communications Commission is alerting consumers to be on the lookout for scam callers seeking to get victims to say the word “yes” during a call and later using a recording of the response to authorize unwanted charges on the victim’s utility or credit card account. According to complaints the FCC has received, the fraudulent callers impersonate representatives from organizations that provide a service that may be familiar to the person receiving the call, such as a mortgage lender or utility, to establish a legitimate reason for trying to reach the consumer. Sister Banks, Meredith Village Savings Bank and Merrimack County Savings Bank are launching their second annual photo contest on Monday, April 3rd. Winning full color photographs will be featured on four websites: the two banks, New Hampshire Mutual Bancorp (NHMB) and MillRiver Wealth Management; as well as in desktop and wall versions of printed calendars for both Banks. Expected Direct Connect Service Interruption for Quicken and Quickbooks Users – April 11
On Tuesday, April 11th, Direct Connect, a service we provide that allows you to access your MVSB accounts using Quicken or Quickbooks, will be updated. While there will be no changes in functionality for existing users, a brief down time for is expected. The upgrade is scheduled to take place between 12:00 midnight and 2:00 am, the morning of April 11th. Construction Underway for New Office in Portsmouth
Construction is currently underway for MVSB’s newest office in Portsmouth, NH, located at 2839 Lafayette Road, across from the Beach Plum restaurant. We recently updated our Telephone Banking system. For added security, the system will now repeat the last four digits of your account number(s). In addition to this change, loan customers now have the option to make principal only payments using Telephone Banking. To access this new option from the main menu, press option 3 or say “make a payment.” Please be advised that there were no changes to the Telephone Banking menu options as a result of this update.
