Members of the Moultonborough Women’s Club recently donated 172 hand knit hats, mittens and scarves to the Moultonborough office of Meredith Village Savings Bank (MVSB) on 991 State Route 25. Although the Club has regularly donated to the Bank’s Mitten Tree program in years past, the Club hopes to reach its goal of knitting and delivering 200 items to the MVSB Moultonborough office by the end of the year. New Hampshire Governor Christopher Sununu has appointed Richard (Rick) Wyman, President of Meredith Village Savings Bank (MVSB), to the board of directors for the NH Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA). The NH CDFA provides financial resources to nonprofits, community development organizations, counties, municipalities and for-profit businesses. These organizations, in partnership with the CDFA, create affordable housing, aid in the formation of new jobs and help retain existing employment for low and moderate income residents of NH. With cold weather moving in and the holidays approaching, sister banks, Meredith Village Savings Bank (MVSB) and Merrimack County Savings Bank (the Merrimack), will collect mittens, hats, gloves and scarves for their annual Mitten Tree drives. A donation of $2 for every item collected through December 31st will be awarded to the NH Food Bank, and earmarked for the communities served by the Banks. New handmade or store-bought mittens, hats, gloves and scarves can be dropped off at MVSB and the Merrimack from now through December 31st. The event will be held this Saturday morning, October 13th at 9 AM, with both courses beginning on North Main Street in Laconia near the Smith Track at Opechee Park.
