Beginning Monday, July 23 you will notice some changes to our website aimed at giving you greater access to any data you share with us and increased control of the cookies that our website uses. These changes are in response to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that was recently enacted by the European Union (EU).
GDPR applies to all businesses regardless of whether or not they are based in the EU and we’re making these changes to ensure that we can continue to serve local servicemembers and their families as well as any customers who may travel to or live overseas. Most importantly, it gives all of our customers increased options for their security when they use our websites.
What’s changing?
- Any time you visit our website from a new computer or device, you’ll see a message at the bottom of the page that alerts you “We are using cookies to give you the best experience on our website. You can find out more about which cookies we are using or switch them off in settings.” You can click on the link provided to learn more about cookies on our website and/or to change your cookie settings. You can also change them at any time by clicking on the “Privacy Tools” link which will be available in the “Resources” menu.
- When you reach out to us via our “Contact Us” form on the website, you will have the opportunity to manage any of the personal information that you share with us on that form. There is also a link on the “Privacy Tools” page where you can manage these preferences.
We’re always appreciative of your patience and understanding as we work stay abreast to changing regulation and provide the most secure banking environment for our customers.
We want to assure you that your privacy and security continues to be our highest priority. While we’ve added this web messaging and tools to ensure we can best serve our customers, there have been no other changes to our website, online banking or to the strong internal security measures we take to keep your information and your accounts safe.
