Spoofed MVSB Phone Calls

Our Cyber Security Team has been notified that several local community members have received phone calls that fraudulently claim on caller ID to be from Meredith Village Savings Bank.  The criminals claim to be calling from Medicare and are trying to defraud and cause financial harm to the people that they are calling. At this time, there is little we can do to stop these criminals from faking their phone number on caller ID.  However, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and telephone service providers are working on a plan to ensure technical checks and phone call authentication by June 2021. Governor Sununu has authorized the allocation and expenditure of $100 Million in CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Funding (“flex funds”) to provide economic support to NH small businesses suffering from business interruptions due to COVID-19. This allocation and expenditure will be the second round of Main Street Relief (MSRF 2.0). SBA Streamlines PPP Forgiveness for Loans of $50,000 and Under

On October 8, 2020, the Small Business Administration released a streamlined loan forgiveness application for Paycheck Protection Program loans totaling $50,000 or less.‌ The new single page forgiveness application, form 3508S, includes certifications from the borrower, but does not require calculations to be submitted with the application. It is important to note, however, that applicants using form 3508S are still required to submit all of the same documentation verifying forgivable payroll and non-payroll expenses.
