Small Business Administration Offering COVID EIDL Loans for Small Businesses

The SBA (Small Business Administration) has announced the COVID EIDL (COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster) Program loan, a low-interest, fixed-rate, long-term loan, intended to help eligible small business applicants overcome any negative financial effects brought on by the pandemic. The COVID EIDL Program loan, developed and managed entirely by the SBA, provides working capital to eligible small businesses for operating expenses. Unlike the PPP (Paycheck Protection Program) loan, the COVID EIDL Program loan is not forgivable and must be repaid. To provide our employees the opportunity to attend an employee event on Wednesday, 8/18, the drive-ups at our Gilford, Laconia and Portsmouth offices will be closing 5pm. Our lobbies in Laconia and Plymouth Hannaford will also be closing at 5pm. All other offices and drive-ups will be open and closed during normal business hours. As always our night deposit boxes, ATMs, and Online, Mobile and Telephone Banking services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We appreciate your understanding.

Amazon Refund Scam Resurfaces

Community members are reporting a recent increase in fraudulent calls regarding Amazon refunds.  Victims of the scam have indicated that an “Amazon representative” contacted them by telephone to issue a refund that they were not expecting. In some instances the representative states the refund is a result of fraud on their Amazon account and other times the customer is told they were overcharged for a previous purchase. Our PPP business customers may have heard that the SBA is now accepting direct Forgiveness Applications from PPP borrowers. However, following our review of the SBA direct forgiveness program we have determined the platform and process we are currently using is less complex than the direct forgiveness program and so we will not be using the direct SBA option. Micro Grants Available Now – Community Development Block Grant – CARES Direct Grant Program

Grafton Regional Development Corporation (GRDC) and three partner regional economic development corporations (Belknap EDC, Coos Economic Development Corporation and Wentworth Economic Development Corporation) have received more than $200,000 in CARES Act grant funding for small businesses that have been negatively impacted by the COVID pandemic. This Community Development Block Grant – CARES Act Funds Program is being administered by the Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA) to low-to-moderate-income (LMI) microenterprises and start-ups to offset costs associated with preparing for, responding to, or recovering from COVID-19. Some Spaces at Gilford Office Blocked By Cones; Office is Open

For those of you who frequent our Gilford office – the branch is open for regular hours. We’ve blocked part of the parking lot with cones as some of the spaces have been compromised by the recent heavy rain. Our facilities team is working to fix everything as soon as reasonably possible.
