MVSB Proudly Supports Lakes Region Community Developers
We are proud to support Lakes Region Community Developers (LRCD) with the purchase of $35,000 in tax credits through the New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA) to go towards renovations at LRCD’s new headquarters at 193 Court Street in Laconia. In 2019, LRCD bought the old Walter’s Market with the plan to turn it into their forever home. The first phase of renovations included interior restorations and repairs to suit the organization’s programmatic needs, adding new insulation and siding on the southwest-facing exterior wall, and improving the building’s front façade. The tax credits will be used for the still […]

HCSC provides community members and families with shelter, case management and educational programs to help facilitate self-sufficiency and permanent housing. SBA Announces Paycheck Protection Program Extension Act Has Been Exhausted
As of Tuesday, May 4, the SBA announced that the funding for the Paycheck Protection Program Extension Act had been exhausted, and the PPP application portal will stop accepting applications for loans. Regrettably, we are unable to take any new PPP applications at this time. The SBA will not accept applications in progress or waiting for underwriting approval, and we will be contacting those businesses directly affected individually. We will hold the in-progress applications until the end of May if the situation changes and the SBA re-opens the program. If that should occur, we will notify applicants who had applications […]
MVSB Supports Huggins Hospital with Donation to Purchase Pulse Oximeters
We are pleased to support Huggins Hospital with a $2,000 donation to help the hospital purchase pulse oximeters to provide to community members with COVID-19 who are monitoring their illness at home. An early warning sign of declining condition due to COVID-19 is lowering of blood oxygen level, so equipping patients with a tool to monitor their oxygen levels at home can help help them manage symptoms remotely and also to know when it’s a time to seek in-person care. “MVSB is happy to do as much as we can to support the hospital’s initiatives to battle this deadly virus […]

Lead Paint Abatement Lending Program for Commercial Mortgage Customers
We are proud to offer a Lead Paint Abatement (LPA) lending program for commercial mortgage customers. This new program is to support financing the costs of lead paint inspection, remediation and abatement in residential rental properties constructed before 1978 to achieve lead-safe status. Serious health risks associated with lead paint are widely recognized. In 2018, the State of New Hampshire adopted universal testing guidelines for all infants through the age of 2 years, and mandated requirements for the mitigation of lead paint hazards in rental apartments and child care facilities. MVSB wishes to contribute towards improving the health and safety […]
