James “Jim” Carrigan was recently promoted to Regional Vice President, Branch and Business Development Manager for MVSB (Meredith Village Savings Bank). In this role, Carrigan will continue to manage the Bank’s Portsmouth office at 2839 Lafayette Road. He will also support the new Rochester office at 21 Farmington Road (Route 11), which is currently under construction and slated to open in late May. Jolene Whitehead, Branch and Business Development Manager, will oversee Rochester’s daily operations.
“This is a well-deserved promotion for Jim, who has done a phenomenal job managing and growing our Portsmouth branch since we opened the doors five years ago,” said Marcus Weeks, Senior Vice President, Senior Retail Banking Officer at MVSB. “The Seacoast community and the cities of Portsmouth and Rochester have been very welcoming to MVSB expanding to the region and we know the branches will continue to thrive and grow under Jim’s leadership.”
Carrigan joined MVSB in 2017 as Branch and Business Development Manager for the Portsmouth Branch, bringing with him more than 10 years of banking experience. He is a 2015 Hoffman-Hass Fellow for the New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits and a member of the Leadership Seacoast Class of 2019. Carrigan studied Business and Communications from Southern New Hampshire University.
Carrigan regularly volunteers his time for multiple community organizations, including the Krempels Center in Portsmouth, Parma Music Festival and the gardens at the Monarch School of New England’s horticultural program. He lives on a licensed wildlife sanctuary with this wife and two kids and enjoys baking and gardening.
MVSB has locations throughout the Lakes Region and opened its Portsmouth branch in 2017 to expand its footprint in the Seacoast region. The new Rochester location will bridge a geographic gap between MVSB’s two nearest locations in Alton and Portsmouth, offering added convenience for current banking customers who live closer to the Rochester area or who travel between the Lakes Region and Seacoast for work, school, healthcare or recreation. The Bank continues to add new positions as construction progresses. Interested applicants can visit mvsb.com/careers to apply or stay tuned as new positions are added.
