We are excited to announce we recently provided Lakes Region Mental Health Center with a $15,000 donation to support their mission of assisting vulnerable populations who need access to safe and stable housing.
“MVSB has been a longtime supporter and we are truly grateful for this recent donation,” said Maggie Pritchard, Chief Executive Officer at Lakes Region Mental Health Center. “We are using these funds toward several of our programs and also support the continued upkeep and expansion of our McGrath Street residence in Laconia. This residence provides supportive and safe living for adults diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness. We plan to increase access to the building by incorporating handicap accessible units, expand bed capacity and continue to upgrade the building’s interior.”
The McGrath Street residence has been operated by Lakes Region Mental Health Center since 1982 and originally opened with eight beds. In 1990, the location was expanded to include several supervised apartments.
“We are excited to support Lakes Region Mental Health Center and their work in Laconia and surrounding towns,” said Jessica Ruel, MVSB Branch and Business Development Manager in Laconia. “We are very fortunate to have people like Maggie and her wonderful staff who truly care about our community and provide essential services to those who need them.”
