We are proud to support the Opechee Garden Club with a $500 sponsorship for their upcoming garden tour on July 16 from 9 am to 3 pm. This year’s theme for the event is “Tea in the Garden” and, in addition to the tour, guests will enjoy en plein air artists, educational opportunities and a luncheon. Proceeds will benefit the Garden Club’s charitable efforts in Lakes Region area.
“We are thankful to MVSB and to the rest of the community for their continued support of our organization and our upcoming event,” said Judy Robertson, Garden Tour Chair. “Our volunteers and board members work hard to promote local interest in gardens, nature study, conservation and community betterment. Our organization only continues to grow with all the love and assistance we have received from the community.”
“The garden club has already made a visible and thoughtful impact on our community with their local gardens and promotion of conservation,” said Jessica Ruel, MVSB Branch and Business Development Manager in Laconia. “We are proud to support their efforts to make our local towns a better place to live.”
The group maintains gardens at several locations throughout the region, including the Laconia Public Library, Laconia Post Office, Benjamin Rowe House in Gilford, Belknap County Courthouse and along the WOW Trail in Laconia. They also offer scholarships through the Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation, support the Loon Preservation Committee, and presents free educational opportunities to the public.
