We are proud to announce that the 2024 ‘Paintings for a Purpose’ art show raised $11,500 from the sale of art and donations. The art show featured paintings from local watercolor artist Dr. Marc Bard and wildlife photographer Dr. John Ingard, and ran throughout the summer at the Bank’s Meredith and Wolfeboro branch offices.
Three donations were split amongst four local nonprofits: End 68 Hours of Hunger – Wolfeboro Area, Kingswood Youth Center, Restoration Acres Farm and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of New Hampshire. The organizations were selected from a pool of interested nonprofits by Dr. Bard and a committee of community members prior to the art show.
“I am incredibly grateful to be able to use my passion to benefit the tremendous work these organizations do for our community,” said Bard. “Thank you to all who attended, contributed and helped us spread the word locally. We appreciate your generosity and support.”
“We are honored to help support this wonderful fundraiser, which has grown each year along with its community impact,” said Marcus Weeks, MVSB President. “Dr. Bard and our team are excited to start planning for the 2025 art show, so stay tuned and we hope to see everyone there.”
In addition to the sale of original artwork and prints, guest also had the option to purchase note cards of select designs, request commissioned art, and special-order prints of any original piece in the show thanks to the support of Meredith Frame Shop. Artwork can be previewed online on the organization’s website, paintingsforapurpose.org, which has been designed and maintained by Bard’s grandson, Benjy Levine.
