We are pleased to support Assistance Canine Training Services (ACTS) with a $1,000 donation in honor of Giving Tuesday. The organization was selected from nonprofit organizations recommended by the community for a special Giving Tuesday promotion on the Bank’s Facebook page. ACTS, headquartered in North Conway, mobilizes skilled volunteers to raise and train service dogs for individuals who are confined to a wheelchair, as well as facility dogs for animal-assisted therapy. We are looking for donations of new handmade or store-bought mittens, hats, gloves and scarves for our annual Mitten Tree drive, now through December 31. All items will be donated to local nonprofits serving children and families and for each item donated, MVSB will make a $2 contribution that will be evenly split among Interlakes Community Caregivers, GOT LUNCH! Laconia and GOT LUNCH! Ashland. Mitten Tree donations can be dropped off at any MVSB branch location. Steven Bennett retired from New Hampshire Mutual Bancorp (NHMB) on October 29, after 36 years of dedicated service to the company and its community financial institutions, MVSB (Meredith Village Savings Bank), Merrimack County Savings Bank (the Merrimack), Savings Bank of Walpole and NHTrust. Steve started his career with MVSB in September of 1985 as Bank Security Officer, a role previously held by his late father, Robert.
