Lakes Region Cupcakes, located on 285 Main Street in Tilton, recently re-opened under new ownership. Melody Hanks, of Mel’s Creative Cakes, acquired Lakes Region Cupcakes in May 2016 with financing help from Meredith Village Savings Bank (MVSB) and Belknap County Economic Development Council. The total donation for NHMB was $100,500, which included employee donations and matching funds from NHMB and its three subsidiaries: Meredith Village Savings Bank, Merrimack County Savings Bank and MillRiver Wealth Management. The Meredith Village Savings Bank Fund at New Hampshire Charitable Foundation granted $10,000 to Ashland Elementary School for the purchase and installation of new playground equipment, replacing an outdated playset that was also in poor condition.
