MVSB Fund is pleased award a $4300 grant to the Gordon-Nash Library in New Hampton. These funds will be used by the library to make energy efficiency improvements to their building. A recent energy audit of the Gordon-Nash Library revealed that a 1961 building addition was an area of energy loss for the facility. To help control energy costs, improvements to insulation and air sealing in the building were strongly recommended. Now through Friday, July 26, 2013, we will be accepting full-color photography entries for consideration for inclusion in our 2014 Community Calendar and website, www.mvsb.com. Meredith Village Savings Bank (MVSB) is pleased to announce that the charitable fund carrying its name has awarded a $7,615 grant to Rumney Ecological Systems (RES) of Rumney. These funds will be used by the non-profit to support the second phase of trail and boardwalk improvements along the Kent Ecological Trail at Quincy Bog Natural Area. About 1 mile in length, the Kent Ecological Trail takes visitors around the perimeter of Quincy Bog, through wetlands, sandy floodplain, areas of beaver activity and forest.
